Justin Timberlake to Star in Facebook Movie

According to the BBC and other publications, Justin Timberlake is to star in the upcoming Facebook movie.

In the movie, directed by David Fincher Fight Club, Se7en and focused on the overnight success of Facebook, Emmy award winning Timberlake will supposedly play Sean Parker, Facebook’s founding president.

What else do we know?

Aaron Sorkin, the guy who brought us the West Wing and A Few Good Men, is writing the screenplay Sorkin recently said he’s never said ‘yes’ to a job offer faster. Kevin Spacey will take on the role of producing the movie. As for Zuckerberg, Guardian UK reports that Adventureland star Jesse Eisenberg is the favorite to play the role, with Shia LaBeouf and Michael Cera also rumored to take starring roles.

I’ve got to be honest. Although it is a very impressive line up, and I genuinely hope the movie succeeds, I’m really struggling to find that excitement that usually materialises when a ‘must see’ movie is making its way to the theatres. I love startups, I love the web, but a movie about one particular web startup’s growth? I just get this image of an hour and a half of ‘Zuckerberg’ on his bed, with his adidas sandles drinking red bull and coding

District 9 Review

Just got home from watching District 9. Definitely would recommend it. It’s hard to tell what exactly the movie is about from the previews but the main synopsis goes as follows: while trying to relocate the aliens that are housed in a refugee camp, the main character stumbles upon a mysterious liquid that initiates a series of mutations into an alien himself.  This liquid also happens to be the only fuel left on earth the aliens need to leave the planet, and the story is a quest to redeem the canister of fuel.  It was definitely a nice change of pace for a movie and had a very interesting plot.  I am glad to see that there are new ideas in the movie industry as for a while I thought every original idea had been used.  The CGI animation in this movie is incredible and is getting better with every new movie. They interact with actors flawlessly and the details between their scales to the shadows and sun reflection is dead on.

Going to go see District 9 Tonight, stay tuned for a review
